AGLIB documentation

AGLIB is the library package of the Annotation Graph Toolkit (AGTK) []. This library package contains a C++ implementation of the annotation graph API, a database interface, and file I/O plugins for several existing annotation file formats. Wrappers are included which permit the libraries to be accessed from Tcl/Tk, Python and Java.

AGLIB implements the annotation graph model. For details about annotation graph model, please read the following paper:

Steven Bird & Mark Liberman (2001). A formal framework for linguistic annotation. Speech Communication 33, 23-60.

Important Note for Developers: There are changes in the 2.0 release of the AGAPI that require modifications in the applications written to use the previous releases (version 1.*) of AGLIB. These changes are described in the Changes from previous release section.
